I can strongly recommend investing in a GHD ceramic hair iron if you can. It is worth it. I have very unmanageable hair and it is the best thing I have done. Besides trimming, I never have to go to the hairdresser anymore.

You wash your hair as normal, let it dry completely and then style with the hair iron. It takes me between 20 and 30 minutes for a really great job and it lasts as long as your hair remains clean, requiring only a 2-minute perk-up in the morning. You just need to use a good product that will protect your hair from the heat, sealing it and giving it shine. I use "Straight Sexy Hair" before and finish with a touch of Lumi-Oil by L'Oreal for gloss and care. But there are many products out there that will work as well. Your stylist can advise you. The KEY is not to buy a cheap ceramic iron but a good one, and to ensure your hair is completely dry before you style. Good luck!

P.S I can tell you that I've been doing this for over 6 months now and my hair is in better shape than ever before, shiny, with fewer split ends than I used to have. So I can assure you if you use the correct products and follow the correct procedure your hair won't get damaged.

You can try to straighten you hair by washing it, blowing it dry and then using a hair straightening iron on it. If you do this alot it can be very damaging on your hair. You might try to control your curls. After washing, use a hair glossing product such has Reken's "Glass" (Salon) or "Citre Shine" (Wal-Mart). Then spray with a gel product, This will tame the frizz and make your curls shine. In some salon's you can have a chemical process straightener, it's similar to a perm without rollers, and is combed throughout the processing time to straighten hair, but I wouldn't try this on my own.

Try to straighten it with a hair straighter. They don't cost much and are very easy to use, its about 20-30 dollars, or use a straightening serum.

Use hair straighteners. But dont forget to use a good smoothing cream before you use them, this should stop damage to your hair. Only use them on dry hair
