Basically RAM works a different way compared to STORAGE devices, RAM is hence categorised as memory and u can information from RAM randomly and its fast but on a hard drive its much slower due to the seek time(the amt of time it takes to read data from hard drive). Flash drive cannot be considered a ram by the system though u can ask the system to PRETEND some portion of ur hard disk is a RAM... its called VIRTUAL MEMORY... Now, its gonna work just like a RAM, but not as fast as a RAM.... So if u badly need more RAM, consider upgrading or u can also increase the Virutal memory to RUN more programs efficiently... To do this,, right click on my computer icon on desktop or in start menu and click properties, go to Advanced and then click settings under performance and there u have the option to increase, decrease or disable virtual memory... u can either set a customer memory size( from hard disk) or let the system manage it automatically when required... Hope this is helpfull.... U can buy memory sticks in different forms, I know abt memory sticks in the form of SD cards, etc...

Yes you can use as RAM. But it depend on how important the files are. If the files are major files such as Microsoft office than it is better to use the internal RAM. For games it is better to use usb flash RAM this is because games can slow down the speed of internal RAM and this can help to maintain the internal RAM health. It is better to use 1G.B of usb flash drive as RAM.

RAM pathways are hardwired to the processor chips for routing command signals. The chips inside the RAM sticks are designed with the correct number of bits (and correct gate circuits inside) for routing the commands with predetermined "word" sizes.
Storage memory is usually nothing more than a holding cell for data and can't really "process" anything.
