Do accidental non-believers go to heaven or hell?

Someone posted the question a little bit ago about where a good person who has never heard of Christ before goes when they die.

I hear the same thing everytime this question is posted and it goes along the lines of..

"every person of every nation will know the Gospel of Jesus Christ before they leave the earth and that it will be their choice if they accept the gift or deny it."


If I was to go into my room and write up a story and say "everyone who does not acknowledge my story as truthful will burn in a pool of fire forever, everyone will know this story before they die. I have no way of proving this story to be true, but believe me when I tell you, it is true".

My question is...

Doesn't it seem physcially, mentally, and scientifically impossible for EVERYONE on earth to have heard of this story before they died? Do I label those have not heard of this story as "those whom burn in the pool of fire", even though they may not of have any way of ever hearing my story?

Please, stop posting circular logic here, it does not provoke thought.

But my question wasnt about who has heard of Christ, my question was about people hearing my story, does it seem logical that EVERYONE on earth will ave heard it and accepted it or denied it sometime in their life?

Those who claim that everyone will have heard of the Christian God know very little about anthropology; while far most people have access to radio, television and internet there are also still a few tribes that have little or no contact with modern man. Besides, wouldn't a question like this be based on those who lived before modern communication & exploration too? What happened to the people who lived in China, in the Middle East, in Africa, before the Christian missionaries?

Second, of course, there are small children who die before they reach the age of understanding.

Third, it would be terrible unfair. If you're raised in a strict Moslim country, it would be far harder to go against your parents' & community's wishes and convert to Christianity; in some countries that would even mean death. Can you honestly say anyone who doesn't have the personal courage to stand up to that -especially when they're still young!- should be doomed to hell for eternity? Sounds rather harsh to me!

I believe in life after death, but not in the Christian hell/heaven, and one of the reasons is that if God is truly so unfair that he'll save people who've done serious sins & believed in him & prayed, while sending people who've done their best for other people but just didn't pray to him hell, well... I don't think I want to spent eternity in the company of a self-centered jerk like that!

This is a good question and it concerned me. The theology answer to it is the 3 C's. creation, conscience and Christ. It proposes that everyone who looks at creation acknowledges there is a creator and behaves within the moral laws they were born with (self evident). There are some the Bible speaks of who not having the law do the things contain in the law which is the crowd who use their conscience as the guide. Then there are those who have heard of Christ. God will judge men by the light that have been shown and so the more you know the more accountable you are. For the vast majority in 2006 the third one applies so rejecting Christ is fatal. Now you will want proof so I will try to find the book I read this in several years ago for you...

God may not condemn people who were ignorant and had no opportunity to follow Christ. These might include children, who were too young to make a mature and conscious decision, and people who never heard of Christ, like the Americans who did not know a thing of Christ until nearly 1500 years after him.

Jesus did say that those who do not believe in him will die in their sins and will be condemed. Those who die without the forgivness of Jesus will perish. I a baby or a small child dies they go straight to Heaven as they are under the age of accountability. But there is not excuse for most of the people. Remember Jesus said when the gospel is preached to all nations then he end will come.

Everyone one person at ONE time in their life will have heard the voice of the LORD. that is just a fact. Those who choose not to believe can write it off day and night. But hell is really more of a place where God is never near you. Even here on earth Non-believers can feel God is near. They might call it a sense of peace and deny these feelings as God. But it is. So everyone is created by this GOD. Thus everyone one man, women, and child will have felt HIS presence at one point or another in their life. Is it really significant? I have not a clue.

I hate to sound like what you dictated as the "normal" answer. But, God is above the science of matters and our mental abilities as well. You are talking GOD here. Not me and or you.

Who has not heard of Christ all Mighty? The newborn only in this day and age. Even the lost souls that are of the muslim/islam faith know of Christ as they are brought up to kill the "christians, infidels."

i don`t really know.. i asked myself the same question about the indians or other tribes (from africa for example) that never even heard of the gospels.. and it`s not that they don`t want to be saved, but they believe in other spiritualities in their own special way. and, honestly, i don`t think that killing in the name of christ was lord`s objective when he came in this world.. i think that he would be disappointed of how many died in his name..
