I totally appreciate when people are friendly with my children, but its like when my kids throw fits, I want them to know that what they are doing is wrong and the will receive a punishment for it, but everytime we are at wal-mart and one of my kids throw a tantrum, there is always some lady with a wal-mart vest on, and a handful of stickers saying ohhhhhhh whats wrong sweetie? do you want a sticker? I do not reward my kids for being brats, why cant people respect that, especially why cant wal-mart employees respect that?

I don't know why. I personally think other people's bratty kids are the most annoying thing in the world. I just had a 12 hour flight loaded with kids and it seemed like every kid was crying about something or running up and down the isles. The stewardesses were just playing with them like we were in a school yard. One kid was loose on the aisle the whole flight and kept grabbing the bible out the hands of some guy sitting next to me. The whole time I was expecting a parent to come grab there child and apologize, but they didn't come. Parents need to keep their kids in line and others need to allow them to do so without judgement.

okay- mom
I can totally relate I have a 3yr. old.
They are trying to help- you know that right? Who wants to see a baby or child cry in a mega store? Bad for business .
Just say no thank you.
OR
My little one is having issues and I will take the sticker for later, so when he is better, I can reward him for it. I wear it and he actually acts better to get it. I say lucky me- I got a sticker.
Our store has a "Cookie" patrol along with the stickers and I must tell you- that is horrible.... I have a cookie monster on my hands. Yet, most times its a great thing and I appreciate it.
But there are times.....and you know what I mean... nothing is gonna make it better besides a tall drink and time off from the kiddos!

Hey darl
If you dont want to be confentational with staff take the sticker and then tell your child they can have it when they start behavouring...
This may keep both partys happy...
I used to be a supveriser in a deli and we use to give out cherros I know i always felt bad when i saw a child upset and also according to research it upsets other shoppers so i guess its there no intrusive way of sweeping it under the rug.

Tell me about it! I'm American and living in Germany. The women in stores are always trying to give my kids candy when they act up. Hello?!!! The last thing I want is some stranger inforcing their bratty behavior. I just tell them thank you, but no. Next time in the store, decine the sticker and tell them you don't reward bad behavior.

Just tell the lady to buzz off. Kindly or Rudely is up to you. But I like hearing about parents like you. Gives me a better hope for our future. You don't just bend over for your kid whenever. That is cool. Yeah. Just tell the lady to go away.

i hate that too!!! when my little boy was one they gave him stickers everything we went it ..on day he ate the sticker and craped the colors out..but is like rewarding them for being bad if they are bad at the moment..i would go to the manager and report her ..if you already asked the lady no to do so she should respect that and if she does not listen i would go to the manager ..

I think they just want to re-direct children's attention or behaviour so that less problem or noises in the shop, to provide pleasant shopping experience for all.

They mean well. They're just trying to make things easier on you by distracting your child for a bit.
