Astalavista is frequently used as a domainname for computer security and hacking related websites. Two of the oldest and most popular Websites are:

- Astalavista Security Group, a computer security oriented website reachable at astalavista.com started in 1997 and a member portal at astalavista.net.
1) Astalavista has been on the internet since 1997 and is so named after the even more popular astalavista.box.sk crack search engine that got its name from the - then popular - AltaVista Search engine. On their own webpage they keep the myth alive that they got their name from the famous quote "Hasta la vista baby" from The Terminator movie to avoid legal trouble with Altavista[citation needed]. It quickly became the underground authority on hacking and cracking on the net. Amongst computer industry officials it is somewhat of a controversial website due to the nature of its content[citation needed]. However a large number of security firms, military institutions and individuals access the site everyday. A current google search yields just over 2,500,000 hits.
2) astalavista.box.sk was one of the first search engines for computer security related information started in 1994. In practice it turned out to be used as search engine for security exploits, software for usage in hacking and cracking and different keygenerators and cracks. The site is also known for referencing things like spyware and viruses.-
