Yes and there is 'proof.' I'd submit Edgar Casey as a very valid example, but let's work on one that might hit home for more people.

Is there something you do well that you can't honestly say you learned in this lifetime? Really think about this one. If we have to learn how to walk and talk, which takes an amazingly short time by the way, wouldn't it be sensible to think that we'd need to learn everything we know in very small pieces. So, how did Mozart learn enough to start creating symphonies in his teens? Yep, we can say it's good for Mozart, but what about ourselves? I know, personally two things that convince me from my own life: The first is my uncanny ability to learn and insatiable desire to continue to learn. This was enhanced by my parents, but not taught by them. The second is my complete lack of mastery with the English language which convinces me it's not my native language even though it, in this lifetime, is the only one I speak. There are other, not quite so obvious things I could point to from my own experience, but I'd rather those reading this to find their own.

If you find a watch on a tree stump, how do you know it was created? If you find a talent that is so highly developed that it really couldn't be mastered in the time you've had on this earth, can you question reincarnation?

Genesis 2:7: "And Jehovah God proceeded to form the man out of dust from the ground and to blow into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man came to be a living soul."

Ecclesiastes 9:5 & 10: " For the living are conscious that they will die; but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all, neither do they anymore have wages, because the remembrance of them has been forgotten. 10 All that your hand finds to do, do with your very power, for there is no work nor devising nor knowledge nor wisdom in She´ol, the place to which you are going.

Ezekiel 18: 4: " Look! All the souls—to me they belong. As the soul of the father so likewise the soul of the son—to me they belong. The soul that is sinning—it itself will die."

Romans 3:23: "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,"

Romans 6: 23: "For the wages sin pays is death, but the gift God gives is everlasting life by Christ Jesus our Lord."

Yes the soul survives.

White Rabbit that is not exactly correct the soul is release after the cycle of reincarnation but it still survives and becomes part of the eternal. But most Buddhism sees this as the way to obtain enlightenment by breaking the cycle but then they can come back again as Buddhas to help other achieve enlightenment. The belief in the Dalai Lama as a incarnation of the Buddha of Compassion is one example of returning after you have broiken the cycle.

No, The Bible says that a soul that sins will die
(Ezekiel18:4, 20) So there is no part of mankind that somehow lives on appart from the Body! This belief that a soul somehow survivesafter the death of it's body dies, is a lie that was started by the devil in the garden of eden when he lied to Eve in direct opposition to what God said to Adam and Eve that on the day you eat from it you will positively die!(Genesis2:17)Satan the Devil contrary to Gpod's woprds said:"You positively will not die."(Genesis3:4) This was a lie that Satan told Eve he said that they would not die. But they did die!So this lie is now furthered buy Satan and his demons to get people to believe that they will not die because somehow their life can continue in some other form as in the soul, and therefore there is no need to worry for humans can live on through their soul no matter how they live their life they will go to heaven and live there with God as souls. But this is a lie that gives people a false sense of security because Satan wants to deceive people as he has Eve in the beginning of human existance, he has down to our time been confusing people with lies and deception that is why in the Bible he is called a manslayer(1John3:15)So that is a lie that is not taught in the Bible but the Bible does say where this lie, comes from(Satan who wants us to miss out on the real life, that is the reason he is blinding people to the truth of God(2Corinthians 4:4) So no the sould does not somehow survive after the body dies(Ezekiel18:4,20)

The original-language terms (Hebrew, ne´phesh; Greek, psy·khe´) as used in the Scriptures show "soul" to be a person, an animal, or the life that a person or an animal enjoys.

The connotations that the English "soul" commonly carries in the minds of most persons are not in agreement with the meaning of the Hebrew and Greek words as used by the inspired Bible writers. This fact has steadily gained wider acknowledgment. Back in 1897, in the Journal of Biblical Literature (Vol. XVI, p. 30), Professor C. A. Briggs, as a result of detailed analysis of the use of ne´phesh, observed: "Soul in English usage at the present time conveys usually a very different meaning from ne´phesh in Hebrew, and it is easy for the incautious reader to misinterpret."

More recently, when The Jewish Publication Society of America issued a new translation of the Torah, or first five books of the Bible, the editor-in-chief, H. M. Orlinsky of Hebrew Union College, stated that the word "soul" had been virtually eliminated from this translation because, "the Hebrew word in question here is 'Nefesh.'" He added: "Other translators have interpreted it to mean 'soul,' which is completely inaccurate. The Bible does not say we have a soul. The soul is not made with composed elements like the body, so it is not decomposed with the body.
All souls will contibnue their existence in the spiritual world at degrees depending on the development of their spiritual attributes right here and now. The training for spiritual development is taught in various Holy Books.

No. When God gave Adam the breath of life it says "and he became a living soul." Meaning that he was a soul. Animals are sometimes referred to as a soul . Religions later introduced the idea of an immortal soul which all like to believe because no one wants to believe that after we die that's it. The Bible says "when we die we are conscious of nothing," but if our soul lived on after we died we'd still be concious of things. Also God said that when Adam died "his soul would return to the ground, from dust you were made, to dust you will return."

Which is of course the point: religions were created partly to offer comfort and an escape from the reality of the physical world.
