Yes! Start with 15 min. and work your way up to more as you increase your endurance. If you aren't shy, pump those arms up and power-walk. The best cardio is a constant. You can't loose weight with exercise alone, sadly. You might try eating several small meals a day along with your walks. Use your Ipod and enjoy your workout.

walking can be very good for you and it can help you lose weight. Remember to burn more calories than you take in and drink lots of water. But if you have any knee problems avoid slants and steep hills. They'll hurt your knees. And only add weights after you've done the walk a couple of times and aren't having any troubles with it.

It actually depends. If your still eating more calories than you burn, you will not loose weight. Walking fast will be good for your heart, its a good cardio workout, but it wont help you loose weight. You NEED to burn off more calories than you eat in a day to loose weight, you also do not want to drop below 1700 calories a day or your body will go into starvation mode.

The base for all exercises is to bring your sweat out. In this case walking will be a good exercise.
But CYCLING is the best exercise.
Try cycling for 20 min. That will do.
Thats why in gym also they have model cycles to lose weight.

Yes, but can you really be patient to walk when you could get there in half the time running with an uplifted instead of drained feeling at the end.

"All things being equal, you will burn more calories by running an
hour than walking an hour. It is true that walking a mile will burn
more calories than running a mile -- although it takes longer to do
so. When you run a mile, you're burning mostly sugar, or
carbohydrates, which is how your body gives you fast energy in bursts.
When you walk a mile, it gives your metabolism time to switch from
burning carbohydrates to burning fat."

Yes, but walk briskly (kinda fast). Get your heart rate up during your walk.
Walking briskly burns nearly as many calories as running the same distance. Walking only takes longer.
"Strolling" isn't an effective calorie burner.
Hope that helps.

Yes, but you need to do more. You need to get your heart rate up for 30 to 45 minutes a day. The below website will explain what you need to do in more detail.

Of course. Basically what I do is replace walking with driving at larger and larger Radii. I started at a mile and increased to 10 miles.
