I'd say to go for the one that you will use more. In my world it is Spanish. If you live near France, french would be a good choice!
I also found that having a bit of knowledge about Spanish helped me communicate with some Italian people since both are Latin based languages. It was rocky, but sort of fun! There are other Latin based languages and many English words are derived from Latin. Spanish has helped me in several areas even though I can't speak it conversationally.

I took six years of French, which is a remarkable graceful language. Oddly, while I have had very little use for it as a communication tool, it made me a champion speller and has consistently been helpful in making sense of terminology in all of my other studies.
Had I taken Spanish, I'd have missed out on all of those things, but I'd surely be able to communicate with my kitchen staff better than I do now.
If I had it to do all over again, I would have taken two years of each one in High School. You'll cover all the basics in the course of two years, and get the maximum benefit of each.
MY ADVICE: Take both!

You should choose the one which interests you the most. I'm trying to learn Spanish because I know that it's spoken around the world, but I don't have the will to learn it, so I'm still at level 1.
I'm a French speaker

well both have their own potentials like if u want to go to canada for business or anything else . you should prefer French. And spanish is more like a tourist language and u need to learn it only to speak to ppl if u go to these country and certainly its more wider speaking language compare to French.
Its all depends on u why u want to learn a foriegn language. i will suggest to learn french if u r going to do some business outside country and learn spanish if u just want to learn a language.
its depends on u now.

Both languages are very useful, so it depends on what area of the world you want to work with, communicate with, or travel to.
Spanish is good for most of Latin America, Spain (obviously!), and is still spoken in the Philippines.
French is good for much of Africa (especially West Africa), France, Belgium, Haiti, Canada, and French Guiana.
I personally like French better, because I am interested in African culture, but I actually prefer Asian languages! No language is useless, so good luck with whichever you choose!

I think Spanish because it's more commonly spoken in the States than French. Or I could be mistaken.

Well, it depends what you would want to learn it for. If it's to be unique and whatnot, definitely french. If it's to communicate well with others, spanish is the way to go. They're both relatively easy to learn, so if you can't decide in the end, try both :)

i took 3 years of spanish and this is my second year of french.
Well, I'm white so it's easier for me to pronounce french. ;) lol but i really do like french better. it just depends on where you live or what people in your family speak or just what you like better. Just go with your gut instinct and which ever you feel better with.
