ringworm is not a real "worm." it is a fungus infection that takes a circular shape on your skin so to look as if you have something under your skin.
it is probably not in your house. you picked it up at a gym or a public place.
you can treat it with over the counter medicine or get a prescription from your doctor.
google "ringworm" and get some detailed information.

...a cat or dog that has been outside can pass ring worm to humans...my old black tom infected both myself and my 3 year old daughter.
...we treated it with powdered sulfur mixed into petroleum jelly and lathered it on the effected area and rubbed it in...did this about 4-6 times a day...it was gone in a week...I think we caught it in an early stage

ringworm despite its name is actually a fungus and can be dragged in on your shoes if you have animals that go outside they can bring it in with them also.

Did you use someone else's towel?
Like everyone says, it is a fungus, depending on where it is you might be able to use athlete's foot spray.
Don't let it reach you hair folicles, you could get a bald spot
