I found the book to be very informative and easy to read.
I've lost 17 pounds in 12 days, I'm just concerned that I'm losing too much weight, too quickly. I will admit I haven't followed the guide exactly. I'm not sticking perfectly to the listed foods and meal plans (but mostly) and doing very little exercise, but the weight keeps flying off.
It clearly works and if I'd followed it exactly I think it would scare the living daylights out of me because of the amount that I'd lose. So thanks again for the information. I've never purchased anything like this before because they are usually full of trash, but 3WD has been a pleasant surprise.
Get started today!

Do not be so hard on yourself. There aren't any imperfect bodies, only inappropriate clothes. You may not lose 117 lbs in 6 months but that's OK. Change your habits permanently so that you can control your weight. For now in order to loose as much do the following.
Eat salads (no cheese, no dressing) use lime juice. Eat raw vegetables as snacks (it takes more calories to chew them that what they are worth in.calories). Out of sight out of mind. No cookies, no pastries of any kind, no pop (not even diet pop), no sweets, no white starches (use only whole wheat) no sugar. Drink a lot of water all day long. Watch your portion control and do some kind of exercise if not active (just take long walks) Do not eat anything fried. Steam or bake and limit your meats. (eat chicken without the skin and legumes for protein). Use portion control but do not skip meals. If you get hunger urges, drink water and wait 10-15 minutes. The urge will go away by itself. Stay busy and do activities you enjoy so food will not be on your mind 24/7. Eat to live and do not live to eat. Good Luck and please no yo-yo diets. Limit your TV watching (too many food commercials).

That's a lot of weight to lose in six months, so I think you should first check with your doctor.
I would also recommend the Weight Watchers program. You can do it online, it's not too expensive, you can pick your own real food (not expensive packaged stuff), and there is a lot of online support.
You should also exercise--even if you don't lose 117 pounds in six months, if you work out, your body will be toned and you will look slimmer!
Good luck!

I don't think 117 lbs is a reasonable goal, but 50 lbs sure is! And you'll look absolutely fantastic!
Then after the prom, keep going and loose an additional 50 lbs in the next 6 months.
You can do it, you just have to start and keep going...

I would say realistically it will take you about a year to lose that kind of weight. You can probably lose 50 or 60 though in 6 months and you will look and feel tremendously better.
Good for you for taking the first step!!
I lost 30 lbs in 3 months using this amazing FREE website
http://www.sparkpeople.com where you can track all the food you eat and it tallies up your calories, fat, carbohydrates, protein, fibre consumed and tells you if you are within your daily allotment. It will tell you what your daily allotment

Well work out as hard as you can, at least you got to lose as much as possible, but no offense but 117 pounds in 6 months is a hecka lot! If you didn't acheive your goal, after six months, just look as good as possible and keep in mind that it isn't really how you look that matters. People who look at you in disgust have a worse problem than you do. Keep that in mind.

No carbs. More veggies than fruit. Never eat close to bedtime. Eat a big, healthy breakfast always. Keep dinner portion small enough to fill you only. Never skip lunch. Exercise three times a week (that can include low impact like walking, dancing, cycling. Weight lifting will add muscle, thus, weight.) It's really easy to do, it just takes commitment, and restraint. You know what food is unhealthy so don't try to fool yourself.

There is absolutely no way you can lose that kind of weight healthily or sensibly in 6 months. You shouldn't lose more than 10lb per month, so you are looking at a minimum of 1 year to lose that kind of weight. HTH : )
