I would recommend playing with the different shades of purple. Also, silver (gray) and purple work beautifully together. Pink (if its lilac) or even a more rosey pink work well. Orange, lime green, Sunflower yellow (with the lilac-not with deeper shade.)
I would recommend going to a bedding store and taking a look at different patterns. You need to have some sort of pattern in the room whether it be throw pillows, an area rug or bedding. You don't necessarily need to buy a whole new bedding ensemble if you already have one. Sometimes just a throw and new pillows will jazz it up. Also, if money is an issue, make your own artwork with the colors in your room. Artwork can be as simple as different color scribbles or as complex as a Monet or Renoir. It's your room make it personal!
My daughter's room was Orange, Yellow, Pink and green. Very Vibrant! Sorta Dora the Explorerish....anyway, I needed artwork and I had very few dollars left.....so I bought some primed and framed artist canvas and painted huge yellow daisies on a pink background with orange centers and green leaves. I made 3 different prints like this one with different colored backgrounds (one orange, one pink, and one yellow) and I alternated the daisies accordingly. The room just jumped! It was gorgeous.
Good luck!

A soft sage green would probably compliment the lavender well, but don't go overboard with it. You want to use it throughout the room but not overpower it. Also, you didn't say what color your walls are, but you might want to throw in some neutrals, maybe a very light taupe or sand color, or cream. But unless you really want to go bold, keep everything in muted shades. If this is a bedroom, you want to make sure you feel calm and relaxed when you look around before you turn out the light. I read that when someone is surrounded by things that soothe them, they actually rest better. A messy room or one that they just aren't happy with can actually effect how well they sleep. As long as it is what you like, go for it. And remember, many of your purple things could be repainted or covered in some other color for a lot less than buying new. Best of luck to you!!

You need to use a color wheel. I've included a user friendly color wheel below that will give you lots of options. Play around with it until you find the color combination that works for you. I could just say yellow but that would not give you all the hues of yellow green, blue-violet that would look great

I'd check out shades of rose pink and dusty blues.
Go to a paint store and get color sample cards in colors you think might work. Take them home to see what looks good with the colors you have. Then keep the ones you want to match in your wallet so you have them to check when you're buying things (sheets, pillows, rugs, even paint, or whatever).

My whole house is done in purple, lavenders and pale sage and lime colored greens. People really like it when they come over. In my Kitchen I also have black and white which is really striking with the lime and lavenders. I use the darker purples as accents.

Silver would look quite nice, as would brown, dark green and gold...take your pick...
But keep in mind that to have complete color harmony in a room, you must have 3 colors to even it all out and a touch of black somewhere in there to ground everything.
