I seem to get so freaken tired after I eat. We all know it's terrible for the body(fat stores) But I can't help myself. I'm now re-gainning my 40lbs back. I don't eat much of anything, but when I do, I get sleepy. Sounds weird? Yeah, I think so too. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Is this everytime you eat? Or only at night time because foods high in carbohydrates (ie: bread, pasta, rice, etc) will make u sluggish and tired when u eat these at night time.

Try eating salads and soup during the night. Also, when u eat a lot the previous night, u'll end up feeling tired the next day. This is why exercising is the best! Just remember that our bodies feel all the junk that we put into our bodies. They output the junk in forms of crankiness, tiredness, irritability, sadness, etc.

Best of luck to you!

It takes energy to digest and it's normal for a body to desire rest after eating a large meal so that there will be enough energy for digestion. Consider the lion who curls up for a big long nap after filling its belly.

BUT this need to rest usually occurs after large meals and you say you don't eat much of anything. This indicates another problem... perhaps an underactive thyroid. Other symptoms besides tiredness include feeling cold, depressed, weight gain, constipation, heavy periods, sore muscles and weakness. That's just ONE of many possible reasons! Only your doctor can diagnose the problem. Please make an appointment :o)

In the meantime, eating fruit is the best way to provide energy without demanding much in return. Fruit juice will also provide the calories and fuel you need when you need to stay alert.

Take care of yourself... I hope you solve the problem.

Funny that you ask this question. And I can't blame mine on the turkey anymore. I was just eating a piece of chocolate and all of a sudden a got this rush of tiredness that I couldn't fight. It normally happens on Saturdays when I eat something while in front of the computer.

Let me know what you find out, I need help too.
