That all depends on how you want to edit them. If you want to look at waveforms and do it that way, I would recommend trying EXP Studio Audio Editor. It's a free download from Download.com, and it's pretty versatile for free software. You can cut and paste sections of music and zoom in and out on the waveforms, as well as add all kinds of effects (flanger, delay, reverb, etc.) It's a great program and I would give it a shot.

I guess it depends on what you want to do with it. If you want to crop it, you can use AudioGizmo, which is actually meant to create ringtones, but it's cool because you can crop the file, and fade it in and out.

Limewire is to download music, videos and more in a p2p network.
Audacity can work pretty well, it's free and you have plugins.
