I really like this girl and I am very close to her. We have many things in common and have kinda felt for each other since mid-august 2005. Neither of us have really had the courage to ask each other out. Every boyfriend she would have, I would kinda watch over here like a guardian angel. Well, I finaly told her this and she was just dumbstruck. She couldn't believe that I would do that for her. I went and got her a little cross necklace for X-mas. Afterwards I found out that it is bad to give a girlfriend jewelery early in a relationship. She and I are just close friends but I plan on asking her out a few days after I give her the necklace. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on a way for me to give her this necklace and so she won't think she is forced to give me a yes when I ask her out.

Ask her out a couple of times, then give her the necklace.

Mmm, I'd give her the present. Gauge her reaction when you give it to her, if she seems genuinely interested, go for it! But I do understand why you want to hold off asking her out. I agree. Give it a bit of time, just in case she feels pressured. Wait maybe a week or two. Take her out to the movies or something equally neutral and then tell her how you feel.

Good luck!

go out with her first...it shouldn't seem like you have to "buy" your way into a date..you'll feel better about it and she won't feel pressured either..hope it works out!
