A little while ago I added a few songs to my iPod Shuffler (generation 1) and didn't use the autofill because I forgot to check the box. Now, sitting here listening to it, half of my songs are missing. Should I plug it into the USB port and use the autofill?

And after I download a song and transfer it to my iPod, do I have to leave the song on my computer or can I delete it? Maybe that's where I went wrong; I had a few songs on my computer and deleted them once I was done, and now they're missing from my iPod.

Sorry if that's not clear enough. I'm extremely new to iTunes/Ipods.

The shuffle is a little bit peculiar. Even if you use manual updates and not autofill you still need to keep all your music in your library otherwise it removes them nexttime you connect
