Yes - he's being possessive. You can't stop someone from hitting on you - you can only decline the person's advances. He should be happy he has a pretty girlfriend that others find attractive.

What the hell are you confused about? Your b/f is right. He is not being possessive. Stop parroting stuff you hear on Dear Abby.If you're uncomfortable with what he says, you should analyze your own insecurities and dishonesty. Why do you want guys hitting on you? Do you have no self esteem?
Would YOU like it if girls hit on your b/f? I'm guessing NO, right? Then why the bloody fvck are you getting all concerned about this?
Don't listen to the women answering you. Listen to me. I'm a guy. I'm right. Guys are always more logical.

Jealousy is insecurity. You have the right to talk to anyone you want. The fact is guys will hit on a girl. He can't stop that he has to trust that you will do the right thing. Get away from him. He isn't going to change and what's going to happen is your guy friends are going to disappear one by one. BUT your bf still won't be happy and then he'll start taking his anger out on you. This is not a new story. happens all the time.

I barely understood your question, but I think you're asking whether or not your boyfriend is acting possessive because he doesn't want other men hitting on you.
That is understandable. I'd be really pissed if I caught my boyfriend flirting with another girl. Wouldn't you feel the same? But if he starts to control who you talk to in general, that is acting possessive. I don't mind if my boyfriend has other friends that are girls, but if he spent more time with them than me, I'd be a little upset.
The best way to resolve this is to ask your man up front. Ask him straight out if he has issues with you hanging out with other guys.

He may be just a bit jealous and paranoid that another man may take you from him. ALL guys who love their woman think like this. If guy friends are cool with him, just don't betray that trust that he is giving you.
