Daniel was being employed in a capacity where marriage would be difficult to maintain. Daniel served in the capacity as a servant [advisor] to the King of Babylon. The last thing Daniel needed was a wife to drive crazy with worry and fear ! Children require lots and lots of time to educate and instruct in the way of the Lord. Daniel practiced his religion in private since any worship of any other god apart from that approved of the Babylonian king were forbidden. Daniel used wisdom and love for others.
