He has already been to my place. Slept on the couch when first met. Due to not having a place to stay. But I have not seen him in a month, because he was out of town.We have talked on the phone almost every day. Going on a first date next week. Not sure if he will expect to stay over again...

It is really up to you! It really all depends on how comfortable you are with him staying at your home! I on the other hand would take it slow! You really dont know this person all that well just by talkin on the phone. Yes you may think you know him but really you dont. Give it a couple more dates and then see how things go!

If he "expects" to stay over, don't let him. If, after a month, he still has no place to stay, don't date him. Look in the dictionary under "Loser" and see if his picture is there.

On the other hand, if he now has a place to stay and is grateful for the night on your couch and is a gentleman in all respects, then do as your judgment leads you. Hot chocolate is always nice at the end of the day and it is not at all "romantic" so you can send him on his way if you decide to.

Your situation is not atypical. Does he live/work out of town?

When I read your question, my initial thought was "over to your place for an intimate encounter" sort of thing.

Maybe before the date, ask him about his expectations, and whether or not he has a place to stay.

well the answer to your head line is until you confortable with him being there, and the answer to you actually question is if you are comfortable with him staying then let him if not tell him that he will have to stay with a friend, and if he asks why say your not ready or make up something

No! Don't allow it, unless you are trying to put out. That would be the interpretation. Plain and so simple!

at least 3. first you meet each other, then you get to know each other better, and finally you invite him over.

Follow your heart.
If you feel comfortable enough, he can come over anytime, right?
Three dates for me, usually.
