Any Christians want to say that this criminal, this war-monger, this liar to his own people, this incompetent boob is one of their own? Why does George Bush wear his Christianity on his sleeve?

(Just riffing on an earlier question about Saddam Hussein and Islam. The question, I don't believe, made sense no matter which way it was phrased. What do you think?)

Bush's most recent lie: "Secretary Rumsfeld will be my Secretary of Defense until the end of my administration." Two weeks later, the man was fired, and he told the press he had been looking for a replacement when he made the first statement.

In his own twisted way, he probably thinks that he does believe in the bible, but knowing him (shallow, dishonest, insincere), he probably doesn't know much about the bible at all. He is certainly not alone in this regard. It's strange that most atheists know more about the bible that christians. And if history is any judge, then being christian is certainly not inconsistent with being a war-monger. Some of the popes and saints waged war, after all.

But I think the most important reason that he claims to be very religious, is to get votes. His intentional deception of the fundamentalist evangelicals was exposed on 60 Minutes and the book, Tempting Faith, by David Kuo. He wanted to appear to be as fundy and evangelical as possible, in order to establish an enormous voting base. His evil strategy worked.

Have you ever noticed that highly religious people are very vulnerable to being used and deceived like this? It's because they don't apply critical thinking. Bush, Jim Jones, David Koresh, Jim Bakker, Jimmy Swaggart, Ted Haggard, etc.

War monger? Bush never started any wars. The second Gulf war was a result of Saddam violating the cease fire agreement of the first Gulf War. Bush just enforced the 17 UN violations that Saddam violated.

Bush a liar? He never lied to anyone. If you think he lied about WMD's then you must think that France, The UN, Bill Clinton, Russia, many democrats in Congress, and 9 world Intelligence agencies lied as well. They all said Saddam had WMD's. It's just that Bush had the Balls to do something about it.

You want a President that lies? Who said the following "I did not have sexual relations with that woman."?

Bush is a christian. He even claimed to be following what God tells him to do. Think about it though. If you have ever listened to God, you know that what he's saying sounds pretty rediculous sometimes, and that's because we can't see the road ahead. Could you emagion if your following became public? Yeah, that would lead people think think the same way about you as they do now to Bush. Infact, his commitment to God might just be the reason why people are attacking him so much with false ideas; because the Devil loves that stuff.

in accordance to the Bible and how the be conscious is used, it shows a individual who's a student or follower of Christ. not something extra. If G.W.Bush says that he follows Jesus, who's all and sundry to question his honesty and integrity? whether he acted as a Christian may well be yet another rely and one that i will reserve for the political section.

(Matthew 5:15) Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. If he didn't do anything about 9/11 you would have something else to complain about.

I think he really believes it. "Tempting Faith" is an interesting read that includes some reflections from a man who had a lot of contact with Bush.

He's just not made introspection a part of his priorities, and has totally deluded himself. He's also not made education a part of his priorities, and has been totally deluded by others who tell him what to do/say/think.

Oh, you see... for money and power certain people are willing to claim very interesting things.

But don't ask him, ask his speech writers.

Please don't tell us you haven't realized the poor little soul can't even put together an articulate sentence on his own....

Because for some reason, people associate values with Christianity...but like I always say, there are good people and bad people in every religion.

Politicians are LIARS.

He claims to be one because he believes himself to be one.

Do you suppose that the more Christian posture would have been to allow a brutal dictator to continue to kill, rape, and torture his own people?

Do you suppose that the more Christian stance would have been to fight terrorists on our shores after they've already killed thousands of us -- or is it better to fight them in their backyard?

The old Chinese proverb really applies here -- don't judge a man unless you've walked a mile in his shoes.
