I am an USAF officer. My vision is bad and I have to wear corrective lenses. It wouldn't really impact you unless you're ging to a Navigator, pilot position. Otherwise, it shouldn't effect you that much. There are plenty of AFSC (positions) for officers with "bad" eyesight. For example, I am an Acquisitions officer, there's also communications, contracting, civil engineering, mission support, personnel, maintenance, etc. In other words, there's more the the Air Force then just pilots and Navs. Best thing I suggest is talk to a recruiter. In order for you to become an officer, you have to obtain a college degree. You can try to get into the Air Force Academy, get into ROTC in college, or after you obtain your degree, apply to Officer Training School. Hope this helps.

I retired last year from the Air Force after 20 years. You need 20/20 vision to be a pilot in the military. You can get glasses later on but on initial entry to pilot school you must have 20/20 vision. Eagle scout is a great acheivement but will not make a difference in becoming a pilot in the military. You need a 4 year college degree.

Your vision needs to be corrected to 20/20 for pilot/nav and certain othre jobs. You can also not be color-blind for electronics positions and some others. The best thing you can do is have a current eye exam in hand and go visit the recruiters. If you can get in, they will get you in. Good Luck!

If you want to be a pilot, then forget about it. But there are many jobs in the Air Force. However, you must still meet their minimum vision requirements to join.If you have 20/800 vision, this is legally blind.

Don't worry about it. As long as your vision is corrected 20/20. Only your vision can hurt you working in certain AFSC (Air Force Specialty Code) career fields. Talk to a recruiter and get your first medical physical at MEPS. Best of luck to you.

You seem to be a very slow individual in the way you write.and express your self.I would suggest you not waste your time. they wont allow you in the military. your obviously not a very intelligent person.I noticed in another one of your postings you spelled five words incorrectly. perhaps you could get a job as a janitor or a guard at wallmart
