it depends on if the person is an adult a child or an infant. if it is an adult you want to summon help first and then do cpr if you know it. if not here is a quick lesson. if there is no sign of trauma on an adult or child put one hand on the pts forehead two fingers under the pts chin. tilt the head back to open the airway. put your ear down next to the pts mouth and nose and see if you feel anything. if not the pt is not breathing. try to give the pt 2 rescue breaths. if both breaths go in then move to the chest. take your first 2 fingers and find the pts rib cage. move your hand up to where the ribs come together and move 2 fingers above that point. compress the chest 1-2 inches and do that for 30 times then do 2 rescue breaths and then 30 more compressions. if the pt is a child do the same only dont compress the chest as far, only compress the chest 1/2-1 inch. do the same amount of compressions to resperations. let me know if you want to know about an infant and i can let you know about that also. hope this helps!! :)

Depends on a lot of things. If this is how the question is worded on the test. I think they would want to instill in you that early defibrillation is your patients best chance for survival. Leave the patient and Activate 911. If this is a pediatric patient, this is not the case. Perform CPR for 1minute and activate 911 after.

a person in cardiac arrest needs CPR. If you do not know it run to phone and call 911. If you do know it start it right away. After 5 minutes if no one is around go to a phone and call 911 and return to the person and redo CPR. Do not leave person without CPR for more than a few minutes.

If you are not a medical professional, just immediately call 911 and make the person as comfortable as possible. If the person is unconscious, if you know cpr, do it until help arrives.
