You're 13 and still growing. If you try anything to lose weight you can permanently damage yourself. At your age your cartilage is weak and can be damaged fairly easily. If you don't eat enough, you will not produce the hormones to continue your growth. You may think that stunting your growth is good, but you could affect your reproductive system, your heart, lungs and other muscles. If you feel you are gaining weight, as your parents to make healthier meals that have less red meat and more fresh fruits and veggies. Engage yourself is physical activities like soccer or track, but don't push yourself too hard.

You're probably not going to want to hear this but the changes could be due to puberty. You're at the age where you'll be getting your womanly figure. I'm sure the reason why you went from an xs to a medium is just the different fit in the style of clothes you are trying on. Do your xs shirts still fit? If you really feel that you need to do something, consider just eating healthy and exercising. There isn't a magic pill or anything that will make weight melt off so don't look for it. Drinking 8 glasses of water a day is very very important. But do not stress too much about things now, you'll grow into a great figure if you stay HEALTHY. Your "stick" friends will too. Good luck!

Since you are 13, you are probably still growing. Maybe you are just starting to get real hips. You don't NEED to be a small instead of a medium. A medium at hollister is still very thin. But if you want to shape up a little, there's nothing wrong with that either. Try cutting back a little on sweets and fast food. Have salads or chicken instead of burgers and fries. You can still have chocolate, have one piece instead of a whole bar. You can exercise also. Do some walking or running when the weather is nice, join a sports team at school or take a dance class.

Well for one thing I want to let you know that you need to accept your self as you are. Look at your mom (pictures before she had children), if she was curvy, you will be. That is great! Most women would kill to have a figure like a coke bottle. At the age of 13 it just means that your body is filling out. You are bcoming more of a women and less of a little girl. It you are worried about gaining too much weight make sure that your meals are balanced. Eat lots of vegetables and fruits, your meats and starches should fit the size of your palm of your hand. Drink lots of milk to keep bones strong and get lots of excercise, at your age at least one to two hours a day. You should get this in gym class and whatever activities you do after school. Each woman's body is different. You should be healthy and make sure you talk to your doctor to find out what your healthy body mass weight is. Your friends may be built differently from you or they may not be developing as quickly as you. Remember, being at that age you want to fit in with everyone around you, but be healthy. you are all you have, if you dont start taking care of your self now, you could end up with severe sickness'. Just eat right and excercise.

If you want to lose weight...use Yahoo to research on how to eat healthy...like 6 small meals a day to boost your metabolism...don't go on any diet though, ask your doctor about your concerns and what he thinks you should do...this would be your best bet, and maybe pick up a sport, or start running

...although being 13 I must agree with what everyone else has said, it is normal to gain weight at this time, your body is constantly changing...

There is nothing wrong with wanting to look good, but you shouldn't worry unless you are over weight and have health problems...you don't have to have your bones showing to be beautiful...in fact that is really gross...the best bet is to be healthy from the start, now, at your age, is a good time to start practicing healthy choices, like a healthy diet and exercise, it is much easier for a younger person to start new habits than for older people to break bad ones.

First off, the sizes on those mean nothing. The same outfit that was a size 6 five years ago seems to be a size 2 now. What is up with that? Put up a picture, I'm sure you will find hundreds of people who will label you as beautiful. Don't let some stupid tag on a pair of jeans tell you how you look or who you are.

Personally I think its a lot better and looks a lot more attractive to be skinny instead of very skinny. Hollister seems to be making their clothes smaller all the time, so I think thats probably part of the problem too.

Hun you are only 13 and your body is going threw some changes. every girl goes threw it i did. and if all the other girls are skinny it's just cus they might not have started there changes or they have a higher metabolism then you do. there is nothing to worry about. things will get better in time and to go on a diet at your young age would not be a good thing. and what people think of skinny is not a good thing you shouldn't change yourself for other people but yourself your on this world for you not them so hold your head up and keep going on. blessed be.

Personally when I was in puberty I was one of the skinniest people in scholl but my clothing size was larger then some. Why? Because I have wide hips. I didn't know this until puberty started bringing them out. So while my friend was a size 1 I was a size 3 soley because of my hips. At 13 don't start dieting, you need to eat healthy to grow strong.

Well, you could cut off a leg, I suppose, but it wouldn't solve your problem. Take a look at your mother and father, and possibly adjust your expectations to be more realistic about your genetic predisposition. And if you stop all pasta and hydrogenated vegetable oil, that will do you a world of good. And exercise, and get enough rest. Best of luck. Most important, stay healthy--the guys like that the best of all.
