First, it is Dearborn, Michigan. It is home to half a million people of Middle Eastern descent, many of them that fled the atrocities of Sadam. I have heard that it is the largest concentration of Arabs outside of the Middle East. Not quite sure how it got started, but if you leave your home, you want to go to a place where there are familiar things and people that speak your native language and where you can buy familiar foods.
