I noticed that US Coast Guard have US Coast Guard AUXILIARY. I think other branches of military have the likewise if I am not mistaken (anyone is welcome to correct me).

For someone older than average military enlistment age (I am 33, but in good health and shape), can the Auxiliary be a better choice? Does the Auxiliary provide similar job-related training, life style, benefit and rewards as the military? I understand Auxiliary is civilian and non-military component of military.

Someone please shed lights on Military/Guard Auxiliary please.

Civil Air Patrol is a civilian auxiliary of the Air Force, but it is strictly volunteer, there is no pay or training granted. they lobby on behalf of the AF, but are not strictly part of it. it's a service organization, much like Scouting is.

The Coast Guard is the only military branch with an auxiliary.

You are still eligible to enlist or get a commission at the age of 33. The army raised the age limit to 40.

What are you interested in doing?

Have you considered the Reserves?

Email me as I have experience in the Army, National Guards, Army Reserve, and the Coast Guard reserve.
