Oh, we just adopted the dog at the shelter, she's about 6 months, an Australian Cattle Dog, suppose to be super hyper and super energetic... she must be crossed with a koala because she sleeps alot!

Well, That depends.

How old is the dog? sometimes if the dog had no opportunity to chew when they were young they don't really know what to do with chew toys.

Not all dogs like toys and chewies. These are made mainly for retriever type dogs. IE: Golden retrievers, labs, short hair pointers, etc. I had a Rottweiler once and you could cover the chew toy in BBQ sauce and he wouldn;t care. he never chewed or fetched for it.

Also remember chew toys are mainly made for the people. MARKETING. Dogs could care less, Sometimes an old sticky shoe or a small diameter tire works much better.
