I accidently spilled an urn with a family members ashes in my front yard..I tried to scrap up as much as possible but was not able to get all of it up. I am sure some of "Aunt Sally" was scattered into my front lawn..

gee, this is a tough situation. I think that the best thing to do is to be honest and make sure you tell the family what happened. As much as you dread their reactions, it's better than letting them find out some other way. They'll appreciate the honesty and they're more likely to understand how sorry you are.

Remember also that you're not alone in making this kind of mistake. I've read about someone else having the same thing happen. Just apologize and offer to help clean up.

generally a plastic bag is interior the urn. maximum places positioned 'Aunt Sally" in a plastic bag (my husbands Grandfather replaced into in a ziplock). You took up what you need to head away it at that. i think of it may well be worrying for others to income relating to the backyard incident. Now she would be able to continuously be a element of your place. No harm replaced into particularly accomplished in the tip, unlike she is definitely there anymore. i won't be able to help yet think of this would be a humorous tale, if it is not I say sorry. My husbands Grandfather replaced into divided up, some in Bridgeport, CA. a sprint extra in Yosemite. Then there have been cousins requesting some. and that may not a humorous tale.

If noone saw it do you really have to tell them. I'm not sure if it matters much. If someone asks about it, like are some ashes missing tell them the truth. Just say it slipped out of your hands and fell.

Keep it to yourself,it will only hurt them more. Also think about how you must already feel, you don't want to feel any worse do you? Only way they'd discover the truth is if they opened it up & I don't think that will happen.unless they plan on spreading them ,than I suppose you better confess. And you will always know you still have part of her (dust to dust).Sorry it happened.
