because we want to stick our things in there bumholes and if we mess that up we cant do that

I'm not sure why people do this? I'm a take me or leave me kind of girl, what you see, is basically what you get! Not that It's perfect or anything, I have been called many things in my day, but it's still worth being yourself!! An old boyfriend of mine, was like this when we first met! I actually slapped him in the face first time we met and could not stand the sight of him. That's when he came clean and decided to tell me I made him nervous...make a long story short when I finally saw him for who he was, I fell for the guy! So try and be yourself, so many lose on what could be something awesome!

because we become self-conscious. We start noticing what's wrong with ourselves (or what might come off as unappealing and/or annoying) so we unconciously freeze up so that we won't mess up. We don't want to say something stupid so we don't say anything. We analyze everything in our minds; that's why we act paralyzed and are not spontaneous. If we just acted, people could see our true selves but we choose to guard ourselves because we know intuitvely that the person is making an impression of us and we don't want it to be bad.

It's kinda counterproductive huh? Like you want to act so confident and smooth but often end up blushing or just acting like a total knob so it doesn't help your chances.
I guess we do that because we're afraid of slipping up and so since we're so afraid of being judged it's a self-fulfilling prophecy and we act stupid. Kinda sucks but if the person likes you back they'll be in the same position, right?

I can only speak for myself. I do, it's my 2nd nature I think. From my personal experience, I'd say it's from fear of rejection. I mean, yeah, you wanna hope they say "Sure I'll go out with you!" but then how bummed would we be if they said no? (A lot!) I can't speak for the rest, just me. That and just from being shy, in general, as a kid, still comes out now and then.

May b b'coz u also wanted to attract tht person.But actually if one wants to attract somebody,he may b acting as a hero or whatever.....
Or u may b having the feeling tht (whether guy or gal) u r being noticed by tht person or tht person is having a liking towards you. Anyway try to behave smart before tht person.

I guess it's because we want to make a good first impression so we're afraid to say the wrong things. Also, we don't know the person very well so we don't really know what to talk about.

because we hope that they like us too, and we hope that they dont reject us. but we may also be self conscious and not have that high of self esteem. You might want to work on that. You are probably a great person. Let someone see that.

because we dont want to screw things up so we just say to oursleves to be ourselfs and act cool then we get scared to say anything so sometimes we just think it is better to say nothing at all.
