Black or dark circles under or around the eyes can be caused by many different factors. The following are the most common causes of those unattractive dark circles.
Like varicose veins, dark circles under the eyes are usually an inherited trait. If you have dark circles, there is a good chance that others in your family also have them. The skin under the eye is very thin. When blood passes through the large veins close to the surface of the skin it can produce a bluish tint. The more transparent your skin, also an inherited trait, the darker the circles appear.
Even in darker skinned people, exposure to sunlight, especially during the summer months, can cause a higher-than-normal level of skin pigmentation (melanin) under the eyes. People get sun tans because exposure to the sun increases the natural pigmentation of the skin and draws that pigmentation to the surface. The same principle applies to the skin under the eyes.
Gently massage saffron or almond oil on the dark area before going to bed.
Dip cotton pads in fig juice, rosewater, or cold milk. Lie down with your feet raised higher than your head, then place the wet pads on your closed eyes. Stay that way for 10 minutes.

First, try to get enough sleep. That can help a lot. Secondly, is the darkness because of blood vessels close to the skin, or is the skin itself pigmented differently? If it's the first, get the sleep, and use an eye product with vitamin K in it. The Vitamin K helps to reduce the blood vessels, making the circles lighter. If it's pigmentation, I'm not sure what you can use. Also, the reason the cucumbers didn't work so well is that they're actually better for reducing puffiness than circles.

A lot of people say that dark eye circles can't go away and the only way to hide them is under makeup. I have them too but they're not horribly bad, you can use organic cream made from herbs and stuff from one of those organic shops they are pretty good I used one for a few weeks and it became lighter. Make sure you dont buy that crap on t.v. for it (it doesn't work for ****)

Get more sleep, drink more water! Water will make a huge difference in your skin complexion and will help with the dark circles. Some people do have darker skin around their eyes, so you may have to use some sort of concealer. If they are puffy, you can use Preparation H. Its used for hemorrhoids, but it works.

Do you have Allergies? if you do, then go see and Allergist ,cause
that can be the cause of your dark circles. My 10 year old daughter has the same problem when her Allergies are acting up.
I always thought it was lack of sleep, but it was not. As for getting rid of them completely, you need to talk to your Dr..

Try using Preparation H. It always helps reduce circles and puffiness. Also cut back on caffeine, drink more water, and get at least 7 hours of sleep per night.

I've found drinking a lot of water can help. Think about it: cucumber slices are suggested to help re-hydrate from the outside-in. Why not try from the inside-out? At least 8 glasses of water will help.

I have them really bad also. When I tried concealers the makeup looks terrible because its so dark underneath. I have been using Everyday Minerals makeup and they have a concealer called sunlight that has worked better than anything I have tried. Just don't expect miracles but it helps quit a bit. I have just learned to live with mine. They are hereditary, mine are anyways.
