No get that little bit of sleep, cause it does make a difference on how you feel and act. Getting no sleep at all, night after night, leads to some real problems, like hearing voices, seeing things that are not there. Just kind of being a zombie, cause you just can't do anything cause you are so tired. I sleapt for half an hour or less a night for over a year, no naps, or that ...... and even now when i only get a few hours of sleep a night i know it is better then getting nothing, and i know i feel a lot better getting them. Heck 6 hours of sleep would be wonderful to get all at one time. So go for it, a lot of people don't even get that. Feel lucky. I hope you find some one that can help you find out why your not sleeping good at night, or getting more hours of sleep. Don't give up......... get the sleep you can, it is not better to stay up then to get that little bit of sleep.

Absolutely not. Take it from the king of insomnia! I have worked countless times with just a few hours of sleep. No sleep at all makes you miserable (and you may go through much of the day with a headache). If you get some sleep (even if nothing but an hour) you will be able to get through the day fairly well and your "biological clock" will thus reset itself, so you can start falling asleep at a particular time. Be careful not to eat the wrong things or do other things that upset your sleep schedule. Late in the day avoid foods with ingredients that keep you awake late. (I have sensitivities to several food additives and preservatives---see my answers to questions about sleep for some of these.)

Sleep...even 2 hours is better than nothing. Your body and mind need to be able to recharge. Total sleep deprivation can cause more problems than not getting enough sleep. I used to have a job that required me to grab sleep whenever I could...the times I would not take the opportunity to grab the hour or two of sleep, I would end up with headaches, slowed reflexes, and feeling foggy and unable to think clearly.

A few hours is better than no hours! Sometimes my best and deepest sleep is gained when I only had a couple of hours to spare. 6 hours of sleep in your case is more than most people get in a night these days! Sweet dreams!

try to sleep, you've still got 6 hours. (that's more or less the number of hours i sleep every night...and i know that isn't healthy but it's better than nothing)
although if i had only 3 hours left to sleep (or less), i try to stay awake instead since i'm more likely to feel irritable once i wake up.

Please sleep. I am a chronic insomniac and so, I know this problem intimately. A lot of things happen when you sleep. Unlike birds, our body recycles lactic acid and can only efficiently do this during sleep. Our information consolidation is done during our dreams, so without sleep, you may be aloof the next day.
When you wake up the next day, move yourself vigourously about, this will expel the lethargy. Eat a good breakfast, and pamper yourself in the shower.

6 is enough to get some sleep i think. that'll give you enough time to go down through the stages and back up again. if you only have 1-2 hours though i'd advise against it because you'll be headed down into the deep stages when you have to wake up putting you at risk for oversleeping/being late.

If you can, sleep when your body wants. Most are not fortunate enough to be able to do that. For those of us who are retired, we can sleep whenever and be awake whenever our bodies want. That is the best way. Ask your doctor and other medical professionals.
