to promote growth of hair one would trim it on a regular basis. if you have someone you trust with your haircuts, half an inch or so should suffice.
as for thickening well ......i think that is in the gene pool.....yeah? the only thing that comes to mind is that you keep your natural scalp oil evenly distributed through the entire hair by brushing daily.....you know, your hundred stokes per.

1-massage your scalp every night making pressure with your fingers, not necessary with oil. 2-lye down on your bed with the head hanging on the border for 3 minutes to activate the circulation.3-go this web site to cut your hair depending on the moon faces http://www.hairboutique.com/tips/tip001.htm, it works.4- chop an onion very small and put in half bottle of shampoo for 10 days. Use it as a regular shampoo until it finish. It smell bad when the hair is wet but when it is dry, the smell is gone, believe me.5- the right diet and lots of water good for any hair or skin.

I have fine/thin hair as well...I started using this product called Nioxin for 2 years now, it is for early stages of thining hair..I have noticed that it has thickened my hair up alot! The thing is once you start using this product, you have to keep using it to make it work. You can find Nioxin at most hair salons..its not cheap but it works and it smells good...Good Luck!!

go in for an oil massage once in a while, and trim it every now and then - especially if u get split ends
taking the necessary vitamins would also help, and eat green veggies if u can - my mom says it helps ;)
just don't use too many chemicals and artificial stuff; let it grow naturally!
