I need to d/l one so I can use my DVD burner, where can I find one and do i need a specific one to match my model computer? If so it's a Gateway, has windows XP home edition.

You don't need a driver to match the *computer model* as much as you need one to match the operating system, because that's the purpose the driver serves: to establish a communication between the device and the operating system.

If available, the latest drivers for the device can be downloaded from the manufacturer of the dvd burner..for the specific model and as per your operating system.

P.S. also be sure to download and install the latest (again, if available) *firmware* for the burner. The firmware serves as the "brain" for the device.

p.p.s. the drivers that come with the installation cd are beta drivers at best; the manufacturer can release these lightly tested drivers and put the product on the market just as long as the drivers worked in their lab's test machine, which is usually quite souped up and 2-3 times as powerfully equipped as the standard consumer's machine. The previous respondent was basically right, but even if the cd installation drivers work, it is always good to get the most updated drivers.

Use the CD that came along with your device. It's much easier that way.
