If a female was walking(with a friend) and then two men walked by and touched her but she was too scared at that moment to call the cops, is there anything she can do or pretty much nothing can be done? (There were other witnesses but nothing was done).

She can certainly report it, but be prepared that the cops will want as much detail as they can get especially bc it's after the fact and not in a timely manner--the report being hours or days after the assault unless you have a lot of identifying info. like name, address, etc. It will help a lot if the friend who was walking with her also presented to back up her story.

Don't be surprised if they just take a complaint or statement and file it or that they try to discourage you from filing a report or making a complaint at all; they certainly wouldn't pursue it well after the fact and with little to go on.

Otherwise, I think, as a matter of preserving her self-esteem and rights to personal safety, she should report it regardless. As well, if the police department is worth anything, they'll be able to track the area if multiple reports come in with the same complaint and be on the lookout, add more foot patrols or drive bys.

Good luck to her.

1. The witnesses must say the same story as the others. 2. Files a police reports, and bring it to court.3. Advocate for sexually assaulted, and battered womens org. 4. The DA make a case against him. 5. Doctors, and any form of evidence to put the bastards aways for a while.

You can still report it, even if nothing can be done about it this time, at least the police would know about it and be better prepared to deal with it when it happens to someone else, at least there would be a prior complaint against these people to help prosecute them next time.

you can document the incident with the cops, and describe the men in detail. that way, if anyone else ever gets assaulted and tries to report the men, there will be some back-up for her case. sorry this happened to u, men are pigs sometimes :-(

Still file a report and give an description. Have the witness interviewed. They are probably doing it to others.

Does anyone know the perpetrator(s)? Can they be identified?

I suppose the right thing to do is call the police, but not much can be done unless they have info on who committed the assault.

You mean after the fact? You could file a report, but unless a witness knew them by name they won't be found. You should just smack them or kick them in the balls next time.

you must file a report of the alleged incident. Don't let those men get away with groping, it is a crime.
