Should I move my 3 year old to a twin bed now, or wait until she physically outgrows the toddler bed?

I moved my toddler into a twin when she was three, mainly because we needed to convert the toddler bed back to a crib for the baby. But she loved her big girl bed. She got to have cool sheets and tons of pillows. In my case it was a huge success moving her to a bigger bed. It's all a matter of opinion. I have found that a bed is a bed. My daughter sleeps everywhere, on the floor, in the truck, on the sofa. Where ever her head hits when she is sleepy so changing her bed was no big deal. There is no right or wrong in this, does she fall out of bed? Does she toss and turn a lot while sleeping? ^.^ Good luck, I know this isn't that helpful but I changed beds when my daughter was three and no issues here.

My kids (ages 6 1/2 and 3 1/2) never had a toddler bed, or crib. After they outgrew the playpen, we went straight to a twin mattress on the floor with a bedrail. After a while, they got a real bed frame and are there now.

We moved our 3 year old into his twin 2 months before he turned 3, he loves it and has not fallen off it at all. Just make sure no hard toys are beside the bed when you put her to bed, so if she does roll off she wont get hurt.

My baby was 2 when she was moved to a twin bed. She had rails on the bed and she did quite well.

I think that is up to you and your child. If she still fits in a toddler bed and she likes it why not. However, if she is getting to big or grown up and does not like it then get her a big girl bed. Are there bars on this bed or is it just smaller? She needs to be able to get up and go potty.

If she doesn't fall out of bed often, and wants to make the change for it. Don't use the rails though, kids sometimes get stuck between them and the mattress and it could pose a suffocation risk.

my child is 3 1/2 and since last year he sleeps in queen bed in his room without chairrails...and sleeping like a "baby"....never fell, never had a problem. It all depends on your baby.
