I know all teens think their parents are crazy LOL
Things are hard, there's no denying it. It's just another 'sign of the times'. Things are getting worse for everyone.

I have learned thru life that sometimes, there are going to be problems that are not going to go away or get better. You have to find a way to deal with them the best you can.

And you are very mature for asking this question and getting help. This is a step to becoming an adult. All thru adulthood you will always need help, even though you wouldn't believe that by the way some adults are.

The main thing that helped me was to realize that I can not base my feelings on circumstances. What I mean is, whatever is bad, Be happy ANYWAY.

If you wait till you get a lot of money, have a car, have the perfect boyfriend etc to be happy, then you will never be happy.

It is something you have to change inside yourself. you can't change the outside (the bad things that happen) but you can change the inside (how you react and feel about them)

Believe me, I KNOW this is very hard to do. I'm still not doing it very well.
There are no easy answers to your question.
When life gets hard, try to do something fun.
Boy I'm the one to say that, having depression at times and staying in bed for days. LOL
I have been thru lots of bad things and have come thru them. It's just part of life.
You will too.
I know a lot of people say the teen years are the best time of your life. When you are a teen, this is the furthest from the truth. But when you are an adult, you wish you could have those years back. Believe me, you do.

I know you are saying, but this is not helping me NOW..
I wish I could help you , I really do. Looking back now, I wish I knew I could have done things differently.

I would not have taken things so seriously. I would have realized that my world didn't revolve around one boy and that there would be a hundred more. I would have stayed closer to my friends and not abandon them whenever I had a boyfriend.
Boys come and go, but friends are forever.
I would have laughed and had fun more. I would have gotten into something I was interested in, like a hobby or something.
I would have talked to older people more, instead of thinking they were embarrasing to me.
Older people have seen and done it all and can really help you.
I would have helped my parents more and been grateful for what they were doing for me, instead of begrudging against them for what they weren't doing, or what I didn't have or didn't get to do.
Oh I could go on and on. But I hope this helps!

Although I would agree that life isn't problem free as an adult, I wouldn't say that it has to get worse. You are becoming self aware at this stage of the game, and you are beginning to form opinions and have thoughts and feelings that will eventually contribute to who you are going to be and how you will conduct your life when you are in the postion to be in control. You are at an age where you are feeling a certain independence and thats why you feel pressure from teachers, parents, or any other authority figure. This is absolutley normal, and they are struggling with letting you go as much as you are struggling to be free.Dealing with this in addition to all the physical changes you body is going through isn't easy and I understand that this isn't the most glamorous time in life, but as someone mentioned earlier, focus on the freedom you do have to enjoy the little things like your friends, tv, music, clothes, no rent, no bills....etc.Life isnt easy, and even though the problems can be never-ending, how you deal with them will change as your perspective does with new experiences.Keep getting the A's and B's, as they will be the ticket to positive things and open more doors for you.

Tell me about it! I am an A student, I hate getting B's. I am on all the sports teams and in student council (president), all of it. When I come home with a report card I will have like a ninety two. I get grounded until I get my grades up to a ninety-five. I have a brother who doesn't give a care about school, he doesn't play sports, and he isn't very social. He comes home with a sixety-four and my parents just smile and say, "Do better next time honey." It makes me so mad! I just listen to calming music, ride my bike around, yoga, paint, draw, that sort of thing. Don't worry, believe it or not...we have it easy as teenagers!

Learn to deal with the stress the best you can--yoga, running, music, whatever you do that helps you. The stress only gets worse when you go to college and become an adult. In college, you have to deal with roommates, school, a job, etc. And in the real world, you have to deal with bills and financial struggles, balancing activities, work, relationships, etc. Knowing how best to deal with the stressful situations you are in as a teenager will translate into knowing best how to deal with them as an adult. Good luck :). Keep smiling.

SERIOUSLY!! THANK YOU!! IM IN THE SAME BOAT!! My family drives me nuts and act annoying toward me even though I pull in good grades. They should be thankful were not the type of teens running around causing havoc and overdosing on drugs!! Help?? Venting.. talking to your friends and having people to relate too.. [its making me feel better right now] Try writing like an ANGER poem to get all your feeling out it helped once. Excersing is also good and so is YOGA.

It would be easier if you realize that not every one is out to get you. Relax. You won't be a teenager forever. Actually you should enjoy it while you can. No bills to pay, no one to cook you dinner, car payments, rent, utilities...a high metabolism! oh to be a teenager again without a care in the world. Your actually pretty lucky.
