Yes indeed it does make a sound...mankind does not have to be a witness to every little detail of nature.

This question is is in illustration of why so many philosophers wasted a lot time and energy, because the question is a semantic trap/circle.
If sound/hearing is defined as requiring a human ear to percieve, then obviously no if theres no one there.
If sound is defined as a wave disturbance through the medium of air then yes.

it does make a sound- it would seem to make no sound because people are not there to witness it. its all relativity-if you went to the sun and then came back and burned yourself on an iron the iron would seem cold-even though it is hot.
the tree thing is confusing because it doesnt make a sound to us-it makes a sound that people cant hear and dont really care. does that help????? PS you spelled no one wrong, know means to be aware of thought or observation.

technically, it doesn't make a sound. It makes a sound WAVE, but if there are NO ears to hear it, then it's just a WAVE. It's not an actual sound until the vibrations are picked up in an ear or ear-type structure.

Maybe. If I leave a room does that room disappear since I am no longer in it? There is a psychological term for this, it escapes me at the moment.
The whole thing is about being the center of our world, and the most egotistical of us think everything exist for us.

Yes. It makes sound waves. There would be animals there to hear it. Atleast one squirrel.
If there was no one there but there was a microphone there, the mike would pick up the sound.

I don't know but a huge one fell on a brand new Honda Accord down the street smashing it. The car is about three feet tall now. I am pretty sure someone heard it when it fell. :(
