One possibility is that you talk about him too much and they are trying to say "we really don't care".

If that's not the case sounds like your friends either
1) have a snobby attitude toward guys then.
2) have a snobby attitude toward you (IE they think they are a bit better than you) and figure any guy who would date you must also be "below them"

Think about it, when you call a guy a "friend", you basically are saying "I don't hate you but I'm not going to push anyone else aside to hang around with you either."
So, it's pretty likely, by saying he's ok as a friend for you, your friends are saying, indirectly, "that guy's just not very cute, you deserve better" or "you're not cute so it makes sense you'd be with him, we're cute and don't want to hear about either of you".
Either way, it's not a good sign. One side of me says "Ok, hate to break it to you, but it sounds like you need some better friends".

The other side though, says they are just prejudging whoever you date on what they LOOK like they can do (IE muscular guy = good athlete, loud guy = good at jokes) rather than what they actually can do. So once you get to know whoever you are dating (IE your b/f), make sure he knows how to put his talents on the table so your friends can put their prejudices aside and learn to respect him. And, once he gets to know your friends, ask him for advice on how to show your talents to your friends so they "get" your strengths better.

Sadly, a lot of living at school ages (all the way up to college) is a lot more about image than the talent to back it up. But learn how to work with people who do care about you to straighten out people who don't and you'll be able to spend less time worrying about this kind of drama and more time having a blast.

Best luck. :-)

maybe they tune you out becasue you talk about him all the time! But sometimes your friends really need to listen to you becasue those are not great friends if they dont sometimes listen to you. So try not talking about him so much and ask hat they want to talk about. And try to ignore the part where they dont give your boyfriends a chance cause trust me none of my friends give my boyfriends a chance either until later when i start hanging out more with my b/f then they will start thinkin he is awesome for somw odd reason.

A true friend will want you to be happy. They could be tuning you out because maybe you try too hard to "sell" your boyfriend to them. The best advice I can give you is to stop caring so much what your "friends" think and don't discuss your boyfriend problems with them. Discuss them with your boyfriend. If they are true friends, they will be happy when you are.

Well i would say its your "friends", ditch them and find new ones, I am guessing that your friends are trying too get you out of the way but don't want to tell you.
Find new friends it really does sound like they aren't worth your effort!
You could do so much better!
good luck!
