It had nothing to do with the CAT - it was related to what and whom you saw outside of your residence. I am assuming your cat does not work or party and have other kitties over to bring in virus that cause a bad cold. The cold came from HUMNANS.

You have an allergy to your cat's dander. It comes from the saliva. I know this because
I was always sick until I stopped allowing my cat to jump on my lap and I stayed away from him.

Yes animal diseases rarely transmit to humans. If he scratched you it could be cat scratch fever. Rabies does transmit to humans. However your symptoms are not rabies. I believe you are simply allergic.
