Okay, I'm bi-polar. Being molested is no fun, trust me. Especially when you go through school not being able to trust anyone again. Well, that was until I met a girl in high school, she was great and for 3 years I was never depressed. I fell in love with her. I still had little issues because that's just an effect of a crappy life, but after she broke up with me, I haven't yet been able to find anyone that I can trust again, so now it's the up and down rollercoaster all over again. So in short, it probably is because of you, you should feel special.

I am bi-polar and I can tell you it is something you are born with, you do not develope it from an event. Depression is the result of an event. Being bi-polar means you have a cycle that swings from one pole to the other; hence, bi-polar. One pole is the manic side, happy, spendthrift, wanting to do something, maybe travel, or shopping in excess. The other pole is the depression side which causes you to be locked away ,not wanting to go anywhere, bother with anyone. So it is not uncommon for a person to be bi-polar and you not know this because once the depression kicks in they are probably not out and about much.
On the other hand, it could be like it is with me, I have gotten very good at hiding it. Which means, I can feel on the edge of killing myself but not a sole around me would even know I am harboring such thoughts, because I do not let it show " act normal" and that don't mean happy or giddy just not a woe is me attitude.
They say "you should be on medication" and they are probably right. For me, I did that bit for about four years and that did absolutely nothing for me, the cycle still came, I still felt the same as aways, so I stopped playing into that scam about two years ago. Sometimes I just think the government wants a medicated society, and i know the medicine companies do.

Maybe you make her so extremely happy that she gets over the sad things when shes with you. When I'm with my boyfriend, he can make me happy no matter what, even if I'm crying - probably, you have that same effect on her.
She is most likely still bi-polar though, it doesn't effect people to the extremity of constant sorrow (usually).
I think you should just stick with your girl, cause it sounds like you make her so happy. Don't give her a reason to be sad with you, and she probably won't ever be.

If she was diagnosed by a doctor as bipolar, then she probably is. People can regulate this problem with medicine. Maybe she is taking medication. Also, bipolar disorder is not just about being sad. It has a manic side also.

People who are bi-polar can go for months and even years without a depressive episode. Or she could be on medication that controls her highs and lows. Or she can be very good at hiding her depression. If you are that concerned about it, you should ask her yourself.
