Sit the glass and/or bottle down and walk away.
On the serious side:...If you need help, start with AA meetings. LOTS of support there and good tips from others like yourself who can't quit or have and offer friendship and insight. If you are THAT BAD go to a rehab and check in. Most insurances will cover it too.

You have to think about what is more important than alcohol. Do you have kids? Think about the example that you are setting for them if they see you drinking all the time. I know a couple that are both alcoholics and their kids are really messed up now.

Just stop drinking! If it is that hard for you I do NOT recommend AA. What a bunch of bullshit. I had to go to 30 AA meetings when I got a DUI (.12) November '04 (Thanksgiving night) driving home at 8:30 at night. What a bunch of crap!

if you are seriously addicted you need to go through medical detox to start the process safely. After that counseling, attending rehab, AA meetings, and getting involved with your faith all seem to help.
