Well, if you're not talking about being seriously depressed (in a medical way), I'll share with you what I do when I am feeling low.
And, it's dorky I know, but it works. I'm an adult and I do this... but it helps. I have a "happy box." I started it a few years ago when I was going through some rough times in my life. It's just a shoebox I decorated. Inside are the things that will never fail to make me smile. Inside jokes, notes, pictures, CDs, favorite items, cherished things... you know. It works for me everytime.
Just a suggestion. Doesn't work for everyone... but it does for me and I thought I'd try to help. Put some of your favorite music on or something- music heals a lot.
Hope you feel better.

When it get so bad and I think about killing myself I do get myself into the hospital. I am on antidepressant and have been on several for many years but for some reason when things just get so bad, I can not take any more stress or just life in general I just want to die. I am a major depressant and do not like to admit this about wanting to die sometimes but I am also a person who knows what to do and I will get help. I am a sex survivor and have suffered 3 mental break down in my 49 yrs of life. I have had counselor since I was 17yrs and I also go to collage and the combination of all as help me live this long. I know this should be at the top of the list (God) but sometime I just can not see him there for me. I really didn't want to answer this question, that is why i am answering. God does guide me in the right direction, if I listen. I have a family that doesn't like this mental illness but they do cope. God Bless all those out there with any mental illness.

I call my friends and family.
I work out, go for walks, drive around, listen to music, read and just try to keep busy.
If you are depressed for long periods of time, you may need to talk to your doctor. There are anti-depressants that can help.

cry to get all the feelings out. then i try to take a walk and write my feelings down, or talk with a friend. i used to cut, so i still get a voice telling me it's OK to cut. but i try not to do that. i just stick to walking, writing, and talking with good, supportive friends. i also see a therapist i've been seeing for 9 years.
