Well I am an intrantry men in the Marines and I know the answer to this question. None for the most part. Unless wwIII starts. Even then no chance in hell. If you ever meet one that says they have been to combat they are lying.

you a rifle man first then a aviation mechanic. thats how the USMC works. I'd recommend going to the Navy if you want to do Aviation related stuff. the Navy has the most planes in the military. and do the most flying.

in the USMC your first job is combat infatry. second job is aviation mechanic. so yeah if they really need you. you can expect to see combat.
combat pay is goo. granted if you live through it lol.
william the army has the most planes in the military branches. you need to do your homework before typing.

When you are in the military, there is always a chance of seeing combat. The pay is good though.

Slim to none, unless you're mortared or sniped, of course. I don't know about today's stressed out military, but in the past, mechanics didn't go on patrols; they fixed things.
