I don't think it's like that for everyone, but yes, I have seen and witnessed it myeslf. The only thing I can think of is that there is not as much "recognition" for people when they help out their own family as opposed to say...adopting a needy family for Christmas. The "reward" isn't as great..that may not be the only reason why, but it's the only reason I've been able to scrape up. The "what's-in-it-for-me-if-I-help" syndrome.

Its not suppose to be that way, but you sound like you married into the same family I just did.

I take it you are having family issues? Because for most families, they take each other for granted.
