Alcohol is classified as a depressant because it slows down the central nervous system, causing a decrease in motor coordination, reaction time and intellectual performance. At high doses, the respiratory system slows down drastically and can cause a coma or death.

You are asking this and the other question you posted because you already know the answers on some level. You are probably starting to worry that you might be drinking more than you should be. Maybe you don't feel very well and think that drinking has something to do with that. Perhaps sometimes you drink more than you plan to. Is your life not what you would like it to be? Is alcohol interfering with it?
If I made incorrect assumptions, I apologize.
If what I said is true, only you can do something about it. But you don't have to do it alone. Call AA. Now. Someone answers the phone 24/7. The person who does will have gone through this too. Believe me. I did. I quit. My life gets better every day. It's not always easy but it's worthwhile. You have to believe that you are worth it. You are.

Dulls the senses, reflexes. Will give you cirrhosis of the liver if long term and lots of it. Releases inhibitions so you are more apt to do things you wouldn't do when sober.
