It's definitely ocd....i've suffered with it for many years.....you should see your doctor....and get prescribed on some meds.

Yes, sounds like Obsessive/Compulsive Disorder (OCD).
But someone may know if schizophrenia has symptoms like this?
Tell the person to get some professional advice and if the person seen doesn't seem to be helping, try somewhere else. If they can't afford help, find out if there is somewhere they can go with perhaps a referral so that it costs less or nothing. Even though our health system needs a radical overhaul, if you push around long enough, you often find an avenue that is affordable. If nothing else, see if you can find a support group for people with mental illnesses who may have information for you, might be the right group for this person, but will very likely know where they should go.

It's is definitely OCD, people with certain types of OCD have strange thoughts of people dieing or getting hurt, or anything out of the ordinary really. This can be fixed by therapy where the patient is asked to leave home for a while and under gos treatment which is often difficult and sometimes doesn't work. It's nothing to worry to much about, they are just thoughts and most likely will never be acted upon. Although I do recommend therapy to stay on the safe side.

The problem here is that you don't think that you will act on these crazy thoughts, but you don't know for sure, that one day you may just do one of those crazy things that have popped up in your head for not reason. I am not sure what they call it, but it can be treated, and treated pretty quick, if you get help right away. They can not say that you will not ever get any more of these crazy thoughts again, but they can slow them down, and help you to stop them. So go and get some professional help, and work on it. I think they call it unwanted thoughts. Not sure what the books call it though. But yes you can get help, and even know how to get rid of them before they can really hit you hard. Sometimes you can even be quicker then them, and head them off, before the thought even finishes. You will have to keep telling yourself that these are unwanted thoughts, and not something that you have to do or need to do. But you will have to work on keeping them from coming back, it does get better, and they do come less and less, til you maybe have one little one a year, if that...

Dear first see a doctor they have about 13 diff rent disorders (3) go a lone with cerebral palsy and grand mild see agrees the there is manic depression 1-2-3 then there are violet by polar 1-2 where no one can do any thing with you at all the doctor will do blood test mris cat scans eegs ekgs electric monogram sleep study a ua a full test all of it all doctors cyclical testing you may be there about ten days

Try Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. The obsessive part means you focus on fears that, in reality, have little to no possibility of coming true. Your story of what you thought of driving down the road is exactly that.
It's often treated with a combination of medication and cogntive-behavioral therapy.

I get them too. Not as much anymore, but I still would get them. Like have the impulse to throw my cell phone out the window, smash my Ipod, etc.
I notice that these thoughts I get sometimes are all what I consider morally wrong. Something I wouldn't do and maybe because of that, the idea that I should never do something like that, they come up as temptation.
I wouldn't worry too much until you actually start acting out those thoughts. Try to control them. Say, "That's silly, why would I ever want to do that"
The more I ignored them, the more they went away.
I'm glad you asked this, I've always wondered too why they pop up too.

I am a manic depressant and have had a few of the same thoughts. I also have ADHD and there are many great answer here. Yet the best one is go to the Doctor and see what exactly going on. There are many test to help diagnoses you. God Bless and good luck

goto a phyciatrist immidiatly or better yet your doctor consult your family about it and make your life stress free.
It wont go away itwill get worst goto the doctor and get soem medicine for sepression your not losing your mind you just having a rought patch.

I think driving makes you nervous. If these thoughts continue, do not drive and you should not have them. Only way to find out for sure is to see a shrink It does not mean your crasy, it means you have a problem that you need help with.

sometimes movies we watch can cause us to have weird thoughts, i would see a doctor though and when you have those kinds of thoughts try to immediately block them by singing out loud or focusing on something really important. try your best to block these thoughts and dismiss them immediately. this will take discipling your mind, but it just might work.. good luck
