I worked too darn hard and then my first two years of college were boring academically because they spent the whole time reviewing stuff that everyone was supposed to have learned in high school but didnt. So if I could do it over again I either would have relaxed and had a little more fun or just dropped out before my junior year and gone straight to a community college. Then I would have had my bachelors degree when I was 20!

Being overly self-conscious about status and not giving myself much credit for what I had done IE lacking certain kinds of self-respect and spending too much time worrying not enough time partying and/or concentrating on the "networking side of business".
I did not realize that the people who were popular were not the people with the most talent, skills and/or smarts, but those who made what they were visible, through jokes, looks, and other things. I often forgot to laugh and have fun and instead kept on worrying about how I could do better...regardless of how many medals I won in athletics or straight A's I got it was never enough to claim any credit I was not handed by default.
And I also went through some less-than-equal girlfriends (and friends) saying to myself "if I were a better runner/lifter/got higher grades....then I'd get a girl who was in good shape and was outgoing and friends who would see myself equally tough as the next guy" instead of "well...for everything I do, I deserve a woman who can at least nearly match my efforts...if that woman thinks she's too good for me that's a problem with her, not me...and same goes with friends...I should gain talents for myself not for others".
>>>> Summary: there is such a thing as being too altruistic IE too overly giving. <<<<
If I had actually put in a stand for myself and my efforts more often back then I probably would not have had to wait for college to start having a blast both with crazy fun relationships and widespread intellectual influence.

I really really regret being so shy and afraid of doing things. I was so self conscious. I am not so now and I have a lotta fun when I am out. I think my high school experience would have been better if i weren't so shy.

Not studying enough and not taking more math classes. My biggest regret would have to be not kicking that Wildcadets' (stupid pompom girl) @ss when I had the chance. Funny thing is I can't for the life of me remember her name.

Not playing football throughout my 4 years. I played for 2 years, junior and senior. I couldn't because I was working at the time but quickly realized I like football more that working and quickly ditched the job.

That I didn't tell the coach in charge of physical education that he shouldn't assume that everyone knows how to play all the games and that it was his responsibility to develop skills in students who were behind the others because of inexperience-- rather than catering to the jocks and living his past accomplishments vicariously through them. There's a sport that everyone can play well, even if one is handicapped, and it's a coach's responsibility to foster that.

Spending too much time helping other people with homework and slacking on my own. I wish I would have taken it more seriously and then went to college. I guess I learn my lessons the hard way..............
