I think 22 is a great age to get married at. I think a 5 year engagement woud be really, really difficult. I was going to be engaged for a year, but that changed recently because we moved up the wedding date. We just couldn't wait to get married and start our lives together. Being engaged isn't much different from being in a regular relationship except for the title. If you don't want to get married until 22, don't get engaged for a little while longer. That's just my personal opinion though. Make sure you do what is best for you and your fiance. Don't worry about what other people think.

Why get engaged at 17 and then wait until you're 22? If you already know you want to wait, then just wear a promise ring or something and then get engaged when you're ready to be married.

Every person is different. If you feel that you are mature enough to be engaged at 17 then why wait until you're 22 to get married?

No, stay single and unattached as long as possible and enjoy life to the fullest while you are young and able. Once you get engaged and married, the kids will start coming, money problems will come up and stress will be a every day thing so just enjoy yourself.

If you think it's a good idea and that you'll really be with him for the rest of your life. If not, then it's kind of a waste. You're also asking this question, so you're having second thoughts (at least). Think about this one, make sure he's the one.

Personally, I would just continue dating for a couple more years to see where it's going.

Absolutely not! Don't commit too young. I promise that you will regret not going out and seeing what others have to offer. I promise, no matter how shy, wild, or weird you are, there will always be others who will find you extremely attractive and you SHOULD date them too. Date around before you make a life long commitment as an engagement or marriage. Trust me, its worth it!

no that is wrong big time you should not wait that long cause if you do it just means that you guys are not in love and you are just wasting yo time. if you do not have the money thats ok get married by a judge and then when the money comes in have the real big fiesta which means party.
