I just bought two of the small velveeta cheeses the store didn't have the bigs ones. And so, I'm going to make Nacho Cheese Sauce for my childern's party on new years eve. And I'm going to cook the Cheese on low but I need to know how much milk I need to put in. I don't want to cheese to be too thick or too thin. Just right.

Remember,

~I have two small Velveeta Cheeses
~Kids ranging from 6yrs-16yrs
~Can't make the cheese spicy
~Just Right

Thanks

1 can (10 1/2 ounces) Cheddar cheese soup
1 pound process cheese (Velveeta) cut in cubes (I'm assuming you have two 8 oz. velveetas
1 jar of mild picante sauce
A little water or milk to thin it out if you need to.

Usually about a tablespoon or two, but you can add more as it's cooking if it starts to look too thick. Taco sauce works good for a little flavor, or chili without the beans. If you're adding taco sauce or chili, hold off on the milk until it starts to melt a little bit.

Just start with about 2 tablespoons and then go from there

For that small amount I would put in a half cup of milk that should be plenty but not too much. When I use one of the big Velveeta I use a full cup. Good luck and hope the kids have fun!!!

I think I would melt it in the microwave first, then add a little salsa for flavor and put it in the crockpot to keep warm.If it starts to thicken, then maybe some milk to keep it the right consistency. Also cream cheese or sour cream would be really good in it too!

I find that it is easier to make it in the microwave and then put it in the crock pot to keep it hot. They have small cans of mild chilies at the grocery store...about a 1/2 can should do it, and a little garlic and chili powder

I don't add milk but if you want it thinner, add it a little milk once the cheese is melted.
I use mild picante sauce to the cheese.
