Just remember that people are only paying attention to themselves, and they probably aren't even listening to what you're saying! I know this because I usually daydream when people give their presentations. I get nervous too, everyone does, even the people that seem so cool when they present. Just stare at something like a clock and pretend like no one is there.

Well a lot of people get nerves when they give a presentation, i know i always did. I guess one thing you can do to get better with that , is build up your self esteem, and self confidence. That will help a lot. That is usually why you get nerves during an persentation..... so go out there, and think positive about yourself, and work on talking skills in front of friends. Remember you are as good as anyone else. You need to look in the mirror, and tell yourself that. You could also go to some classes for self esteem, and assertiveiness, that would help you a lot. Good luck, hope this has help some....

I have always been really nervous giving presentations, and I was never able to figure out how to stop feeling that way. I'm a little bit social phobic.

What I did learn was how to FAKE confidence. Watch your pitch, make sure you're not squeaky. (My vocal cords tighten up when I'm nervous, so I have to make sure I keep my pitch normal). Pay attention to how fast you're talking. Make sure you don't have any obvious nervous tics, like rocking back and forth, or clicking a ball point pen, or rustling your papers. Look at one person at a time in the audience, say a couple sentences to them, then look at someone else and say a couple lines to them. The audience can't tell exactly who you're looking at. When I had to give a speech, I'd tape record myself beforehand to see if I was talking too fast & then work on the pace.

After some practice, I don't think anyone could tell how nervous I was anymore. Now that I'm older (in my 40's) I don't really care what people think about me as much, so I get a little bit nervous. But then I prepare less, too, so it's a double-edged sword.

Good luck!!

NERVOUS! Nerves really mess ya up do they? Mine got to me bad too! When giving presentations, during interviews, all that yucky stuff. Seriously find a local herbalist near you and ask them for an herb that would work. There's a few out there that work great and aren't that expensive. Be sure to check with your doctor before taking anything though. Also might wanna try counsling maybe they can treach you better ways to cope with having to stand in front of the room, etc.
