yes true verry true
if you can just blow it away it is dead skin off your scalp but if not it is nits the nits are shaped like a half tear drop and there is nit remover treatmentthat comes with a nit comb
there is really no for sure way to prevent lice but i know if you use selson blue or any other dandruff shampoo with the same active ingredient as selson blue it can prevent the lice because the lice are detracted from the smell of the active ingredient but it is hard to stay away from lice because if you sit on a chair that someone with lice sat on with in 24 hours of it you will mostlikely get it
sorry if you have it
you know you have it if you find nit 1/8 of an inch from your scalp if you don't find any that close but do find the further that means that they are old nits and you don't have them any more

If it doesn't blow away, then it could be nits. Lice lay their eggs near the scalp, and they're firmly attached with a kind of "glue" that make them impossible to just blow away. Lice eggs are kind of grayish white and can be pulled off after the louse has hatched. Of course, it's always possible that some debris could just be stubbornly caught in the hair, so try and get it off with a comb before panicking and buying lice killing shampoo.
As for preventing lice, the best way to avoid it is to not share brushes, pillows, or anything else that touches someone else's hair. Also wash sheets, pillows, etc. in hot water every once in a while just to kill any bugs that might be one there.

No, you cannot blow away lice eggs. They are attached to the hair shaft with a natural adhesive produced by the female louse when she lays the egg. You can get shampoo and a louse comb (it's a special fine toothed comb) at any drug store. To prevent lice...don't use or let anyone else use your hats, combs, brushes, scarves or pillows. Any place somebody else's head with lice has been is a place that you can get lice. Summer camp is one of the worst places for spreading head lice.

To minimize chances of getting lice: shave hair or at least tie them well; never use someone else comb, brush or hat.
"Lice attach their eggs to their host's hair with specialized saliva which results in a bond that is very difficult to separate without specialized products. A nit comb is a comb with very fine close teeth that is used to scrape nits off the hair" taken from Wikipedia, so I guess that if it's not a nit comb then you shouldn't be able to remove them easily. My mother used to say that if you quash it and it looks like blood then its lice, if not then it's dirt. I never had any but the simple idea of it always gave me goose-bumps!

You cannot blow away nits... they must be picked out. Nits combs are almost useless.
