5'1" - 130 lbs... I used to be 118 lbs.. but with the holidays I added 12 lbs more.. I dont think I am overweight but my "ideal" weight (this is based just on pure perception) was 105 lbs.. I had become obsessed with weight just after Christmas.. I always been really activeand I believe that most of my diet is pretty healthy, no soda, no fat foods, no fried stuff, no pizza.. I go to the gym or run three times a week.. my problem is my eating habits.. evryone that has been excercising for a long time knows that what you eat is who you are.. and I just have too many carbs on my diet... I have an Hispanic backgroung, so Ive been growing up with rice and beans all my entire life... I tried to get rid of the carbs.. but I just get sick.. dizzy, no energy level at all, sleepy, cranky, etc wihout counting the fact that when I dont eat carbs I cannot even excersice (no energy, remember??) ... can anybody help me to substitute my carbs or get a healthy diet without feeling so sick?

I am exactly your size. 5'1 and I struggle between 115-130, up and down. I've found the most consitent way to stay where I want (115-118) it to keep workign out- and using this diet my trainer gave me.... (this is expensive, but I'll share) also drinking a gallon of water a day....

8:30- 3 hard boiled eggs (only one yolk), 1/2 wheat begal w/jam

11:30- protein shake

2:30- 3 oz chicken, 3 oz, brocolli, and small baked potatoe

5:30- protein shake

8:30- 3 oz beef, 1/2 cup strawberries, 3 oz brocolli

Listen to your body.... your body is telling you that, for you, cutting carbs is the wrong thing, and in fact you can't even work out without them (just like me!!!).

And in any case, if all/most your physical activity is about running you ARE going to need carbs, like it or not.

In your case the solution is: cut the fats instead (which also are more caloric!!!) especially the lard, refried beans, nachos, avocado, and fried food, and eat complex carbs such as black beans, whole bread, whole flour or corn tortilla. Chicken, low fat dairy and lean beef would be fine. Also eat more mexican soup and salads.

In other words, go on eating Mexican (I lllllove it) but cook a low fat version of those dishes, with all the flavor of this cuisine!

In my opinion the best thing to do would be to make all the carbs you eat wheat. brown rice is much healthier than white. also only eat maybe 2 servings of carbs a day..that way you are cutting down but you wont overindulge later or feel like you have no energy. other than that you seem like you are doing everything right. it just takes time. Good Luck and i hope that helped!

Carbs are not bad for you! Most of the world rely on carbs as a majority of their diet. Junk food carbs with fat and no nutrients are bad for you. I think you are not honest with yourself about what and how much you are eating. 5'1" and 130lbs? YOU are overweight girl! Probably bottom heavy. Add in healthy items before you consume the bad stuff; it may fill you up quicker and not leave you craving.

Great book "Eat Fat, Loose Fat" I lost about five lbs in a few weeks by just adding virgin coconut oil to my diet, if i had been trying to loose more I would have had no problem. Also, if you want an overall health plan, get Sally Falon's "Nurishing Traditions" great book for great health. Good Luck!!!

well my sister is less than 5" and was 78kg some thing like 156 pounds (a real big butt), and less than a year ago she decided to lose all that weigh, and the only thing she did was to cut off the rice, (don't cut the lentejas, those are good for digestion) and at night she only eats tuna or chicken and walks for about 45 min at the morning, the only help she needs is some product called thermogen by omnilife i dont know if they sell it in the us, but is like a tea and its very good, try to find it and dont forget that you are not your weigh but your soul... sorry mi sister in now 61 kg, she was 18 in pants now is 10 (latinoamerican size)
